Transcript (English)

Hi everyone, I'm Ed. Welcome to Ed and Philly's breathing space. Today's session is intense. If you're unsure, try our beginner session first. Today we're doing Freestyle: a fun, exhilarating practice with healing benefits. Nine rounds with nine different breathing techniques. An advanced guided breathing session. Here are the nine techniques we'll use today. Breath of Fire. Exhale through your nose.

Don't deliberately breathe in after each exhale. Let the inhale happen naturally. Next is Power Breathing. Breathe in through your nose, out through your mouth. Then comes Iceman Breathing. Breathe in and out through your mouth. Next is Circular Breathing. Open your mouth and throat fully.

Breathe all the way in and all the way out. Keep going without pauses. Feel the air flowing straight into your body. Next is Cleansing Breath. Use your mouth or your nose. Breathe in in two parts. Then exhale once. Next up is

Reverse Cleansing Breath. Use your mouth or your nose. Take one inhale. Then exhale in two parts. Next is Three-Part Breathing. Again, use your mouth or your nose. Breathe in in three parts. Then comes

Alternate Nostril Breathing. Start by breathing through your left nostril. Then switch to your right nostril. Here's how: If you're using one hand, use your index finger and thumb to take turns closing the nostril you're not breathing through.

Okay. And finally, Rapid Breathing. Breathe in and out through your nose. Okay. That's all nine techniques. Next, with each round, our inhales

and breath holds after exhaling will gradually get longer. Along the way, there'll also be some extra bursts of exhilaration with a few little surprises. Okay. All right. Before we begin,

I'd like to ask you for one thing. It's very simple. Don't worry. After the session, share what you felt and experienced. That helps Philly and me learn a lot, too. You'll also be contributing to our breathing research. And another thing:

Tell us where you felt sensations. Your head? Your chest? Your hands? Your belly? Anywhere at all. I'd also love to hear about anything else interesting you noticed. Or whether you noticed any changes in your mood

or emotions afterward. Tell us all about it. Okay, great. Let's get started. Round 1 Breath of Fire. Just exhale through your nose. Let the inhale happen naturally.

Focus on your nose. Feel the air around your nose. Power Breathing. As you breathe, feel the top of your head and the soles of your feet. Feel your whole body at once. Feel the front and back.
